Nick Shorten is an American-based photographer studying at Arts University of Bournemouth. His work is inspired by personal memories and contemporary issues. His most recent work about punks in Bournemouth depicts an anecdotal documentary photo series of a punk friend group in a small seaside town. His photos aim to raise awareness for mental health and addiction in young adults and shine a light on subcultures that are overlooked. Currently exhibiting in the “The Portrait Now” exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in London.
